ANALYSIS OF PUBLIC FINANCE MANAGEMENT REFORM WITHIN THE COMPREHENSIVE PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION REFORM

The Republic of Serbia is implementing reforms and initiatives aimed at modernizing public administration. These efforts stem from the need to meet the continuously growing demands of citizens and businesses, as well as to prepare for the requirements of future membership in the European Union. The reform of public finance management is an integral part of the comprehensive public administration reform. The Public Finance Management Reform Program represents a new strategic framework for planning and implementing reform processes within the public finance management subsystems in the field of public administration. The reform is carried out with the aim of achieving a more balanced and sustainable budget, reducing the level of public debt, strengthening financial management and control, and improving the system of external oversight of public finances. By implementing this reform, Serbia will become more competitive as a future EU member, participate under equal conditions in the internal market, and adhere to the standards of good administration, democratic governance, and the rule of law.Downloads
